18 vs. 29 - 열여덟 스물아홉

My Latest Watch!
Synopsis:

Yoo Hye-chan, 29, married to her highschool classmate, Kang Sang-young, met with an accident on the way to submit the divorce papers at her lawyer's office. She wakes up, remembering only the events 11 years ago and believes she is still an 18 year old. She goes back to school, mixes with the highschool students and made an 18 year old, Kim Noon, fall head-over-heels with her.

Meanwhile, Sang-young tries to juggle his stardom, amnestic wife and a pestering admirer and co-star, Shin Ji-young. Along the journey of recovery from amnesia, Hye-chan and Sang-young went back to the days of courtship and falls in love with each other again after a stale 7 year old marriage.

***

My take:

Pretty fast paced show. Not too bad. Not much crying (on audience side). No tears wasted. No one died. No disease related story line.

OK, I'm a fan of Korean drama.

Guys often give a face when we talk about Korean dramas. They think the storyline is all the same. Someone will die. Brother-sister relationship.

Gosh.

I guess you guys need to know that, Korean drama fans dig the process. We enjoy the progress, the process, the romance, the hiccups.. everything in the middle!

For 18 vs 29, it was a good thing that the Hye-chan got into an accident and became an 18year old once again.

#1 - It saved their marriage
#2 - The husband has to take care of her like a kid again
#3 - Both were reminded of the times when they were in courtship
#4 - Husband found out the problem in their marriage
- he's usually to busy to spend time with his stayhome wife - who gets paranoid easily
#5 - They both fell in love again like they did 11 years ago

Dramas like this are very close to our lives too. It makes us think and apply to our lives (or at least in the future).
