Inpiring...

Saw the latest post on Ivy's blog and it reminded me of that lunch I had with the Vice-Principal.

Somehow while we were on the topic of rebellious kids turned good, we touched on dreams and passion.

She frowned and spoke with such disbelief that how can one ever get a job they like and have passion for. Jack tried to enlighten her about the sacrifice to be made between monetary gains and aspirations, she just didn't take it in.

"Try speaking to a civil servant, who has been receiving salary from taxpayers, about dreams. Don't even start." I told him on the way back to office.

Really. The msg I have been putting across in class is outrageous - or at least to the older generations.

Studying is just a current sideline job - Something for you to fall back on.

It's just like eating, sleeping and pooing.

But hey, if you love studying, do it well then.

If you don't, just get past the next 3 years and graduate with a decent Olevel passes and see what you have in your hands before continuing your next phase of life.

Frankly, the streets of Singapore is now littered with tonnes of graduates. From local Unis to overseas Uni. What is a degree from another?

What sets yourself apart from the rest is yourself. the UNIQUE you.

Oooh. This remix of Paula Cole's song playing currently on your blog is more subdued. Still, it's nice!

Wah liew. How can the Vice-Principal make such a comment. Reflects badly on herself. Does it mean she hates her job??? I am speechless.

And you didn't stare at her and hinted in a blatant way? Like "Oh Ms. VP, I am sure that's not true. I see so many impassioned teachers and educators like yourself in BPGHS!"
Rolls eyes.
