@ Visual Pleasure @

I was hosting at Alliance Francaise for the opening of Month of Photography 2007.

Featured were the works of renowned French photographer, Raymond Depardon.

I found this picture especially captivating...

I like the
neverending road,
the symmetry of the pic,
the horizon that creates the intimacy between the earth and sky.

Several others i didn't forget...

I won't fill in my thoughts for these pictures.

It's for you to fill your visual appetite (for those who appreciates photography)

ERRANCE is the exhibition held at Alliance Francaise and consists of 81 works by Raymond. All his works are taken in different countries, from Japan to Ethiopia.

You're Sick... but don't drive me NUTS!

I'm Sick.... and I can't help not blogging.

I hate jerky bus rides... and it makes me hate auto vehicles.

Tonight's journey home was the worst ever.

No thanks to Jerky Bus#67.

My 3-in-1 (breakfast-lunch-dinner) & coffee was just churning in my tummy...

30 minutes bus ride felt like forever.

Everything in my tummy was halfway up my gullet. Anytime I stick my fingers down my throat, it could be out.

.
.
.
.
.

Yup. 1/4 of my 3-in-1 and coffee came out when I hit home.

The rest....... must be in my large intestine or rectum...

Stupid jerky drivers.

Self confessed workaholic

Shocking, but ya. I would rather be working than out there shopping. *gasps*

That's what separates Ivy and I.

It's my last hols to enjoy now yet I can't stop looking for a job.

I'm too lazy to laze.

I need to look like ...

Oh bother.

Arts Fest has come to a close. Finally. Just left with the submission of time sheet.

I've got another hosting job (thanks to the recommendation of an NAC staff) at Alliance Francaise & relief teaching at my sec school. Man... it's english and geography. Talk about avoiding the unavoided. Maths has been my forte. Not geo... ewww...

Anyway, I'm happy now my schedule is packed till school starts. :) Yippie.

Happy Working, Aileen!

Boiling P*t

I hate thinking of titles for blogs. It always hinder the start of my entry.

Anyway, yesterday wasn't that great a day to start off with.

It's been a long time since i worked at the ice cream shop on a Saturday and I completely didn't expect the crowd.

Came two ladies who want to get a take-home pack with 4 flavours of which 3 are taken straight out from the freezer. Dang. I hate packing mixed flavours.

When i was finally done with their orders, I prayed that should the next customer come, they should just order one flavour take home pack.

10 mins later, One lady came with her daughter. Without even sampling, she said she wanted Caramel reg thp.

Man! This was the fastest God ever answered my prayers.

In the midst of scooping that, she made another order - Crunchy Mania reg thp and then Rum & Raisin.

I cringed in my heart thinking my arm might probably break at the end of this order. :(

*Seriously, if you guys visit my ice cream shop, you'll know how impossibly rock hard can some flavours be.

*Take home packs always taste better when bought in a single flavour. :)

At 5, I headed to Jurong to start my arts fest duty. Happens so it was the South West district arts fest opening. I also know they will be using the emcee CDC hired for the whole night. That means I don't get to touch the mic.
As if it wasn't bad enough, my dear in-charge asked me to sit beside the emcee and brief her about the 8pm show. Talk about being insensitive.
I really didn't mind if I was pushed to be the usher. -_-
But no, I had to sit there like a bloody idiot, watch how great and effectively bilingual she was.
That was quite painful, at least to me.
At 8.30pm, CDC staff whispered to me, "Can you do the announcements for the end? I realised we hired her till 8plus only."
I was so tempted to smile and reply ' I charge for that 45min wait too. The same amt u paid her.' -_-
Imagine all the swear words that were boiling inside of me.
Whatever!
I'm a newbie. That emcee was a DJ from 88.3FM, I have nothing against her, she's sweet and nice, just that the management of the events are bloodily f*.

Guess where I went again yesterday?

J's Salon - Hair & Scalp Institute

It's the 3rd time.

The 1st visit was purely a scalp analysis.

2nd visit was the trial/discounted hair spa treatment.

3rd - was another treatment.

***
Truth be told, I'm born with fine hair. Beautiful and soft is what people like to praise.

But I always believe God is fair. He never gives us everything 'lest we become arrogant. (I shall touch on this in another entry)

Anyway, my dad has male balding pattern, common in most men, and I think that I am so likely to inherit that - at a pretty young age too.

Women these days are very prone to premature hair loss yet most aren't doing anything about it.
***

As I was saying, this salon is making me crave for it more after each visit.

The service is great. The environment is sweet.

Each hair spa includes:
- Scalp analysis
- Opening massage
- Scalp treatment
- Hair treatment
- 20 min upper back and hand massage

They use only kerastase products for every treatment and carefully pick the ones suitable for individuals.

They serve u drink when u first step in, 2 rocher and drink, and you can ask for refill of any other drinks too.

The girls are pleasant and they don't hard sell products. They believe if you like it, you will go back again.

Man... talk about great service and confidence.
***

I'm certainly going back for another treatment next month. Wanna join me, let me know. :)

A month had passed

Talk about M.I.A-ing for a month! It's been a pretty crazy month with arts fest, ice cream parlour, tuition... whatever.

Anyway, arts fest is coming to a close.

Starting 22-24 June, singapore arts fest is holding its closing celebrations at Jurong East (beside JEC).

Time Out by Germany's antagon theaterAKTion - 8pm.

Sure to have fireworks, Sure to have a large crowd, Sure to hear my voice over the speakers again.

In the last few weeks, i have given out my contact to 3 interested parties (not admirers unfortunately... snigger) - usually people who might possibly hire my voice. But this time around, NAC hired the same audio company for most events. So it's hard to get various contacts. :(

The other time at Raffles City - Proteo show, the Italian music director, Marco, recorded my voice to tweek and play during his performance. Happy that it's the first time I finally had a proper recording, I brought it back to share with Ivy.

Eww. i think it sucked. At least to my own standards. It sounded like a DJ who had big lungs and no time to breathe. Haha...

Well... time passes really fast. Not even sure to be happy or sad now it's coming to the end of June. I just don't get to do something I like, at the moment - holding the mic. :(
