It just gets worst

Truth be told, I wasn't so keen on blogging these days.

With all that's happening in Sichuan, it sure didn't help either.

Watching the news or reading the papers just seem like so... heartbreaking.

Whining about the sweltering heat only makes me feel like an immature person who should be the one thrown under the rubble, eating paper and drinking my own urine for 40 hours.

Blogging about the best things that happened makes me sound like a big fat gloater who should be the one to have my limbs amputated.

Sigh.

I wish all these would just stop.

News never get better.

Weird people...

while the news is currently flooded with saddening events, we decided to seek humour in the little things.

Well, not exactly little.

On Friday's Straits Times, there was an article that reported on the current situation of the wife of our leader, hospitalised due to a sudden stroke.

Their daughter reported the following of her mother..

'Her intelligence is not affected, but physical movements may be frustrating,'

After serious consideration at this odd statement, i realised how incomprehensible it was.

I can't imagine asking the doctor, when my parent gets wheeled out of the operating theatre, "Doctor, is my mom still intelligent?" instead of "is my mom fine?"

Does it really matter more that the intelligence being affected or the health?

Ivy says it matters to THE family.

probably.

So maybe we would expect the following in near times too..
"Pronounced dead. But intelligence still not affected."

when slapsticks heal the wounds...

Caught this show in the morning.

Yea, pretty much a wonderful experience to do something bad... after such a looooooooong time.

Pretty much like JUST MARRIED, What happens in Vegas is equally hilarious.

What really cracked me up were the psychotic side of women found in Joy (Cameron Diaz) & the perverse nature of men in Jack (Aston Kutcher).

Shan't reveal too much but go catch it probably on a cheap movie day.

Cameron Diaz is one hot blonde for someone her age. *grins*

Headed down to Queenstown Library because we were having a preview show for Moonbird.

The songs are beautiful, the actors are equally good at singing it.

Two hearing impaired actors make up the cast of eight. One of the hearing impaired actress is beautiful, or so I think.

For whatever stupid reasons, I typed out 'You are very pretty :D' & showed her before I left, she hand signed a "thank you" before moving away shyly.

Uncle Sam said I was flirting. =.=

I sure hope she doesn't think funny of me, but when I think someone is really pretty, I just have the urge to tell them.

Interested to see how she looks like, go Youtube to google her name ->Erika Levi.

Warning! Tears abound!

I wasn't expecting much when I picked up May's issue of Vanilla Magazine from the mailbox.

Afterall, it was just another women's magazine out there.

Chucked it in my bag so I could read on my journey to work.

Wrong move.

As I turned the pages, tears started to well up in my eyes when i read articles after articles on mother & child relationships.

Cover story was on this Myammar girl who lost her mom when she was studying here alone & how her mom used to pack a box of her favourites for her to bring back to Singapore everytime she went home for vacation.

Other touching stories included the exchange of letters between the magazine's editor and her mother.

It was silly of me because I forgot I'm an emotional bun.

Like my mom, we are termed the crybabies of the house while my dad and sister are proven to have extremely dry eyes and inactive tear glands.

If only Ivy was there to FINALLY witness someone crying on the train (not from fighting with bf) but from reading.

Don't get me wrong, I don't cry from fighting =.= NEVER.

Anyway, in view of today's special occassion, take sometime to appreciate someone who has painstakingly brought you up despite you calling that irritating.

You will, one day, become a parent yourself.

Updates...

Gosh, I never really keep track of the date of my last entry.

Things have been piling up at work and I have been staying back slightly later & juggling with three productions paperwork.

Now I know how easy it is to be stuck in this co for long because the productions never stop.

Good & Bad.

Well, I haven't stop looking around. Afterall, I belong to the Gen Y club! :P

Read yesterday's papers and you will get a pretty good idea of the Gen Y and how they work.

July's issue of Faithlink

Have been tasked to write an article on a person's transformed life.

Happy news! I managed to secure an email interview with Al Gordon & Tim Hughes! Woots.

I didn't give up after I was denied an interview with them while they were here at FMC last month. I missed their concert at Max pavilion too.
(crazy people who insisted we collect tickets from thomson during odd timing)

Have been rushing to do a speedy research on them before getting the questions out. Ahhhhhh... I sure hope the readers of FL will be blessed by that interview.

silly Saturday. Was supposed to head down to bukit batok & bukit panjang lib to snap pictures of our Moonbird preview but my battery died on me at the first location.

rushed home to check ivy's cam and it happened likewise.

Grabbed 2 pie kias from lot one for dad and i and decided to stay home instead. (Missed ker-ying's lunchtime meetup too.. :(

Sigh. Great day.

Anyway, on another note. The pie kia - excellent branding but the pies sure aren't up to standard for that horrendous price.

Too many workers who stood around chatting while I have only 3 mushroom chickens to choose from. WTH.

I walked off thinking if i were the boss, they probably wouldn't be reporting for work the next day.

Anyway, I rather spend 30 cents more for an excellent, bigger and crispy polar puff. :)

it's really not that ~AWW~ bad.

I found my sprain doctor. No not witch doctor.

In fact it's a needles doctor :(

Acupunturist, to be precise.

Sigh, I never knew I would resort to this but ya, when you're in pain, anything goes.

I sat down on the chair and almost kicked the doctor when he gave me this
.
.
.

Haha.. seriously, it was only my left leg and there were only 3 needles. :P
Can't move for an hour. Great.
Pain still persists but then... haiya.. see how.

I'm beginning to feel a little drained at work.
Doing all the stuff I avoided in school -> Photoshop.
Sigh! For whatever reason, working in a smaller company does help when you want to 'learn' to BAO KA LIAO. But it's extremely inefficient though cost saving.
Whatever.
