Few days back I was peeping over Ivy’s shoulder while she was checking out her friend’s blog.

And I saw this…

I asked her in a highly exasperated manner, ‘If you wanna blog, why do you wanna lock?’

Ivy named all the possible reasons you and I can come up with…

Don’t want some people to read. Prevent your boss or potential boss from reading. Blog so you can vent it all out, but don’t let the others see. Image to protect.

Then don’t blog or rather blog selectively!

If you have a protected entry, what would you do if the person whom you wrote about/want to hide things from asks you for the password? What will you say?

Gosh. Some people just puzzle other people.

Is it worth it?

I wanted to take a break, come online, blog about last night's cell grp when I saw something on YingYing's blog.

She was talking about Anorexia nervosa - a term that is not uncommon in our society today.

Even if guys don't know this word, they also know that they don't like stick-thin women. As much as looking at the picture bothers me, I refuse to put them on my blog. Because it upsets me.

In my lecture on Social Psychology of New Media, we talked about how people misuse the net. Instead of providing support for people with eating disorders, there are those PRO-ANA websites. They give a million ways to encourage girls to be anorexic. From eating naked in front of the mirror to snapping rubbers onto yourself everytime you think about eating, these are few of the many ways that make you feel bad about your body.

I googled for pictures of Anorexics, curious to see they look like when I realised it's no difference from googling for 'skeletons'. Even watching My Chemical Romance's - Black Parade is not as scary.

I remembered chancing upon this article a few months ago...


Beautiful girl huh? Yea.. but she killed herself - not intentional but still...

She's a beautiful 21 year old Brazilian model, Ana Carolina Reston, who died from a generalised infection caused by Anorexia. Standing at 1.7m she's only 40kg! Talk about being sick!

She's so beautiful, yet we can't see the protruding ribs under those branded clothes.

If we saw, she'd be a scary pack of bones.

Dr Loon was asking some of us to help out for SANDBOX #1 - Theatreworks Writers' Lab Series.

We're supposed to read selected text for playwrights' submission. No acting. Just reading.

Rehearsals will be starting on 3rd May.

Performance held on 3 nights, 11,12, 14May at 72-13 at Mohd Sultan.

72-13 is a converted rice warehouse which now has a gallery, theatre and cinema. So cool. :)

Anyway, admission to play recitals are free and all are welcome!

It's almost Over....

Finally, the day to declare a burden off my shoulders!

Finished with the 1st and most horrible, dreadful, disgusting paper - Microbes, Environment and Man!

Have I not learnt my lesson about Science?

Once, I was burning in misery of being a triple science student.

Biology. Physics. Chemistry.

Yikes!

Now, I burn in the hell of microbes!

Crazy woman.

The paper is done, finished. Fini! But the girls say we'll probably flunk it.

If I did not remember wrongly, I blogged about my friendster voyeurism habit. Yes, it came back to me again (habits are so hard to kick)!

I hit this one. Interesting. I was wondering if he was also a 'comrade'. I doubt so.

His blog has very interesting stuff, or so I think.

Hair care, hair styles, Guys' fashion - interesting for a 20yr old, Singaporean male who blogs.

How annoying...

I was, for the past few days, thinking about the list of things that annoys me the most...

then it came...

this email, a response to one which I sent to the other party, does not contain any GREETINGS, SIGNING OFF or NAMES. Yet he is someone who has a professional title.

This is not the first time I received similar emails from the same person and it just puts me into thinking if this person is mad? tired? irritated? or WHAT?

I know it's unfair, afterall Computer Mediated Communications (CMC) has reduced Social Context Cues and in many occassions sent wrong intentions, misunderstandings across the cyberspace.

Similarly, on many occasions, I have received SMSes that sounded extremely hostile and you wonder... maybe there should be some CMC etiquette classes to educate people on how pleasant and nice you should sound over such cues-filtered out communication mediums.

side note: Group mates did comment that I sounded pretty fierce over smses.. I guess they don't really get it, do they? I meant it. They ought to have done their part ages ago! Okay, I'm just sounding mean.

Peer Review...

Yes, I hate doing this at the end of every project.

And I just ended a 2 hr long session which we have to assessed both the production crew and cast on each other's performance.

Man, how do u assess someone u dun work with when u're in the cast and not in the crew?

So this peer review, we're supposed to grade each other out of 5, write a whole junk of justifications and then the lecturers will grade us for the quality of the peer review.

I mean, if you ask me to grade three groupmates, that's easy. Not a whole chunk. -_-

It sucks. But.. it's over.

It's Over!
